Who we are...

Accium BioSciences is the first commercial provider of Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) bioanalytical services in North America.

As a specialty CRO, we provide ultrasensitive quantitation of radiolabeled drugs and their metabolites in clinical samples with routine detection of less than 0.01 DPM in small biological samples.

Our GLP-compliant services enable attomole-level quantitation of drugs and metabolites in samples obtained from human mass balance, absolute bioavailability, microdosing, long-term PK and biotransformation/drug metabolism studies. 

These lightly-labeled (0.1 uCi) studies are performed at a number of qualified partner clinics.  Accium BioSciences also offers overall project and vendor management for these studies.

Our client list ranges from small biotechnology companies to five of the top global pharmaceutical companies.  Approximately 70% of our current study pipeline is from our existing client base.

LATEST NEWS:  Accium BioSciences is expanding its operations!!

Accium BioSciences is expanding its AMS service operations by implementing a new sample documentation system and a large-capacity sample injector for its AMS instrument.

• A new sample documentation, sample tracking and chain-of-custody system has been implemented at Accium. The new system provides much more efficient documentation of sample preparation and tracking and improves productivity and turnaround-time for each study.

• Accium's AMS instrument will be upgraded in July 2009 with the addition of a new sample injector ion source.  Running in conjunction with the existing 40-sample injector, the new 134-sample injector will increase throughput and measurement capacity by at least three-fold.  This means more data points will be generated in a 24-hour period, helping to speed study turnaround time and overall service capacity!

Custom-Designed AMS Analytical Facility for Early Drug Development 

Accium BioSciences is the only accelerator mass spectrometry facility in the world to combine all aspects of  sample preparation, graphite preparation and AMS analysis under one roof.  The facility features a high throughput, custom designed 1.5 SDH-1 Pelletron Accelerator Mass Spectrometer dedicated to drug development services.  You can be assured of sample chain of custody, the quality of results and analytical throughput that is second to none at our GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) standard facility.
